In the series of drawing based sculptures Paper Cuts, boundaries are pushed between 2-dimensional drawing and sculpture/installation. In some instances a drawing is made sculptural merely through a few subtle incisions, allowing paper to droop or curl out of gravity or of memory. In other instances the paper itself breaks free from the wall entirely, and drawing is made through the use of cast shadow. Alternately, drawings may be combined with cast or found objects or reproduced digitally in order to suggest a kind of viral reproduction in the computer age.
