The word case not only describes a shell or housing to protect or carry other items, but may describe an action of spying/planning or alternately a set of circumstances, conditions or characteristics. In this series of sculptures, suitcases and other kinds of baggage are converted through minimal interventions into pinhole cameras. In each “case,” photographs created from each object are displayed inside of the pinhole camera in which they were created. Imagery may evoke suggestions of travel/mobility, violence, surveillance, domesticity, nostalgia, and the frailty of the American Dream.
